Novena to the Holy Spirit – Day 7
Come, O Spirit of Piety, possess my heart;
incline it to a true faith in You, to a holy love of
You my God, that with my whole soul I may
seek You, and find You my best, my truest joy.
Especially give this gift to our Seminary, its staff,
program, and those who shall answer the call to
ordained ministry. Allow our Seminary to stand
with holiness in Your presence, as it prepares
shepherds of Your Holy Church.
Jim-
When is Synod over? Will they issue a statement regarding new policies and if so when?
Thanks.
PS
Is their agenda public and if so where can we access it?
Holy Synod starts October 4th with Holy Mass at 1pm and ends October 8th. A meeting of the new Supreme Council occurs immediately after the end of Synod. The official results of Synod will be printed in God’s Field over the weeks following. If there is anything major, I will attempt to cover it, i.e., election of a new Prime Bishop, any Bishops. The new Prime Bishop takes office at new business. Much of Synod will involve reporting on past results from and the current status of Church organizations and bodies, budgets, etc. (dry except for what is between the lines). The ecumenical reports should be interesting, focused on Orthodox (yea!) and Roman Catholic (blah) discussions, and as well as reporting on the Declaration of Scranton and the status of the Nordic Catholic Church. New business will be more forward looking. The new Prime Bishop will be appointing members of various commissions and bodies as well.
