SAN FRANCISCO — Two peace activists have planned a massive anti-war demonstration for the first day of winter.
But they don’t want you marching in the streets. They’d much rather you just stay home.
The Global Orgasm for Peace was conceived by Donna Sheehan, 76, and Paul Reffell, 55, whose immodest goal is for everyone in the world to have an orgasm Dec. 22 while focusing on world peace.
“The orgasm gives out an incredible feeling of peace during it and after it,” Reffell said Sunday. “Your mind is like a blank. It’s like a meditative state. And mass meditations have been shown to make a change…”
Don’t put your faith in God, put your faith in worldliness, the Winter Soltice —“ that’s how peace will be derived. Focus your energy field everyone!
Do people actually believe this? It appears so… These would be the same people who say any idea of God, revealed through His Son Jesus Christ, is silly and stupid, just superstition. Don’t believe in anything the Church says – believe in yourself and, above all, have lots of fun doing it (double entendre intended).
Ugh. Just when we think we cannot be shocked by anything else.. Surely, the only reason California hasn’t slid into the sea in utter shame under weight of sin is because some holy people live there who are pleading for others at the foot of the Cross.

You are right – prayer, fasting, offering up our suffering, all work to redeem our times. It is our cooperation with Christ who redeemed us once and for all.
Christian witness is powerful and redemptive.
I don’t buy into the God will punish us with blatant destruction line though. I think it will be our own sin that destroys us. Our sin destroys us by destroying that which is everlasting – our souls.
The idea of an eternal hell as dramatized by some churches is far from the truth. We don’t need a devil-man to get us, we do it too ourselves.
Hell is and will always be intentional separation from God.
Those who lead lives of separateness fall into the trap of being apart as a mode of life. They understand nothing else. Whether here on earth, or in eternity, the road back to unity with God and each other may involve walls and mountains they cannot scale, because they have no experience of overcoming themselves for others.
By our cooperation with Christ we work to bring back and teach as many as possible – you can overcome yourself through Christ Jesus.
