Commentary – from the prince of darkness

Thoughts and opinions from a Priest in the PNCC

LOL. After reading that section on his blog I checked out some other posts he has. Did you see the link for the webpage of Pope Michael? WOW!
“Michael” like other conclavists (a sort of offshoot of Sedevacantism) is another example of the dire straights the faithful fall into when what may be a valid personal criticism gets carried away on the wings of ego.
It’s easy to call people like him and the alleged “Pius XIII” nut-jobs. It’s much harder to see the fact that these people might not have fallen into these crazy ways if their weaknesses (a sort of faith that relies on human absolutes) had been handled more gently.
More and more people will fly-off in various directions as their parishes are closed and as the realities of the ‘boys clubs’ become exposed. The sin lies with those who should a.) Know better and b.) Who have ultimate accountability as shepherds.
It saddens me because I’ve seen the questioning hurt on way too many faces. Think of that woman who was forced to stand by Bishop Brown. Think of her face as she said “Please Bishop†and “Why?â€
My feelings go to the people who follow a breakoff group. Many of them may follow a priest or minister because they beleive in the message the clergy person is spreading, which is fine. However, if these leaders are in it for the feeling of power and the ego trip, what happens when they get bored with, retire, or pass on? Those people who put their hearts into the movement are left without a spiritual guide.
I know of a priest who left the RCC and took many of his parishoners with him. I knew his story and his struggles. I suggested joining one of the hundreds of indy churches, but he did not want anything to do with them. I hope that personal satisfaction did not play a role in his decisions. I continue to wait and see what the future holds for him and his flock.
I have talked of these ‘bishops’ before. I understand they have opinions that do not allow them to be RC or Anglican, however, they all seem to want the power for themselves and are not willing to work with one another.
It is sad indeed.
